7 Best Quiet Fans For Sleeping Through The Night – Staying COOL In 2020

Best quiet fans for sleeping through the night are the ones that create the right breeze to keep you cool at night but without the extra noise.

Why Get A Quiet Fan For Sleeping

I have an air conditioner in my room; it makes a lot of noise. Even my wife complains that it wakes her up constantly throughout the night and she is a heavy sleeper at times, especially with the meds she is on.

Fans are great for circulating air. They keep us cool by evenly distributing the air throughout the room. When airflow happens over the surface of our skin, it helps to cool us down, which is a preferable environment when going to bed.

Personally, I would say air conditioners are great for using during the daytime. Having a fan that is quiet at night not only helps you sleep, but it also makes a soft noise, which can be considered white noise that some people need to drown out outside noises.

Fans are great for everybody!

Conclusion  Fan use may be an effective intervention for further decreasing SIDS risk in infants in adverse sleep environments.

  1. Thank you Eric for sharing a great post.  Sleep is so important and I’m always on the lookout for anything that can make my sleep better, particularly through the heat of summer.

I note that many of your recommended fans are of the circulation kind where the existing air in a room is moved around to generate a cooling airflow. What about fans/cooling towers that use water (in a tray) to cool the air before it is distributed, much like a standard air-con unit? Are there any of this type that you would recommend or have they been excluded because noise is a factor?

    • I find that the noise factor can be a  hinderance in water-based fans.
