Why post about sleep products that college students need?
First off schooling is going to be back in session very soon. When college students leave their homes to go and start a new chapter in their life, most likely, they will not have their parents there with them. It’s a whole new world for them, but they will still need the same consistency and structure as they had at home to be successful.
Remember, most times, we as parents are the ones who are funding their education. To ensure that our funding meets its full potential, it’s up to us to make sure that our college student does not suffer while they are away doing their schooling.
My son is actually starting college this September. All his life he has had me wake him as well deal with any stress which arose at school.
But now that he is going away to college he’s not going to have that. In order to prepare him correctly, I found some sleep products that I know he will need to be successful.
Now onto sleep products that college students need.
1. Sonic Bomb Loud Dual Alarm Clock with Vibrating Bed Shaker
Knowing that colleges students can have long nights of studying or whatever else it is that they get up to. With a demanding school schedule getting up in the morning can be challenging
The Sonic Bomb Alarm clock will have them waking up quite quickly. The display on this vibrating alarm is easy to read and is ideal for college students. It has long-lasting qualities, which means it may even outlast the years the student spends in college.
It offers peace of mind to those who are hard to wake in the morning. The unique 113 dB extra loud alarm with adjustable tone and volume control allows for easy waking.
You can also turn the alarm off to turn on the vibrations; this will allow the person sharing the room not to be awoken by the alarm. The vibrations have strength control, so you can adjust how much vibration you want.
All you need to do is put it under your pillow or mattress. It has a powerful 12 V bed shaker, which will easily shake up whatever you’re sleeping on.
2. LUCID 2-Inch Gel Infused Memory Foam Mattress Topper
When a college student goes off to college, they have no idea what kind of a bed they are going to be getting. Usually, in dorms, there are four twin size beds for each room. The mattress on the bed may give students trouble falling asleep.
Getting a mattress topper will save them from sleeping on an uncomfortable mattress. The Lucid gel-infused memory foam mattress topper comes in thicknesses of 2 and 3 inches. It’s a very soft foam which will contour nicely to your body.
This mattress is gel-infused as well is ventilated, which means it will help to regulate temperature. It is great for both cold and hot sleepers. The mattress is an open-cell, which means it is designed not to sag, which can often happen with memory foam.
You could probably sleep in any sleeping position you want to when having this mattress topper on your bed. It provides excellent pressure relief; this would be very beneficial to a college student who is always on the go.
3. VicTsing Essential Oil Diffuser
Essential oil diffusers offer many benefits to college students. Especially during allergy season when they can be used as humidifiers. That’s when a lot of class time is interrupted.
Having said that, allergies are not the only time when diffusers can be used. They can also be used to create scents that promote sleep. The most commonly used sleep-promoting scent is lavender.
Most college students are always on the go, where they may not have time to care for their skin. Plus college rooms can be pretty dry. With the essential oil diffusers, moisture can be introduced into the room, which can help with breathing as well as skin problems.
To create a sleepy atmosphere, all a person has to do is add a few drops of essential oil into the water and then allow it to do its work. When the diffuser runs out of the water, it will automatically shut off.
It has four-time setting modes. You can either set it on continuous-time or 1 hour, 3 hours, and 6 hours. Your college student will be able to select a suitable timer mode and mist options to create a calming and relaxing environment.
It also comes with seven soothing led lights, and each color has two light options, they can either be dim or bright. The diffuser can be cycled through all 14 colors, or you can just set it at one fixed color, whatever provides the best calming effect.
4. One Line A Day: A Five-Year Memory Book
College students should definitely be keeping a journal.
Because journals will help them get through their days by writing down what happened throughout their day, it’s a known fact that once you write down a thought, it actually drifts away from the mind.
Here are some more benefits to college students who write in journals:
- Practice writing – writing is one of the essential skills that a college student needs. By writing down their thoughts in the evening, it will give them practice as well as create confidence. This can lead to having a better sleep as well as not worrying about the lack of writing skills.
- Express your feelings – most of us need to express our feelings, but people who are away in college don’t have anyone that they can communicate. For this reason, a journal will be perfect for them, a place to let out their feelings, so those feelings don’t interrupt their sleep.
Most college students end up in college at least 4+ years. For them, this five-year journal and memory book is perfect.
Not everyone has time to write a full page on top of their daily to-do list. Committing to just one line a day is pretty manageable, you can always add more if you feel like doing that.
Each page of the journal includes an entry for five successive years, which means at any time you want you can revisit what you’ve written. This helps college students to reflect back on what they’ve learned about themselves over the course of years of attending college.
This journal is durable yet elegantly designed with a ribbon for easy page marking. It makes an excellent gift for your college student when they’re embarking on their journey. It will also serve as a keepsake.
Journaling a final thought before falling asleep at night helps the college student get a great sleep. The reason this is because their mind is clear; they have no anxiety or stress because they’ve released it all into the journal.

It is both washer/dryer safe, so there’s no way your college student will be able to ruin the blanket.

Reading is my favorite thing to do. But other than reading, I enjoy discovering new techniques on how to do something in simpler methods. My daughter likes to call me the Renaissance woman. So I do have to live up to the name.
One of my main issues is sleeping, so I’m always searching for new ways to get a good night sleep, I’m more than happy to share them with you.
My posts are either geared towards pain or self-help. Pain posts because I suffer from ongoing cancer pain. In the past 6 years of my fight with cancer, I have learned many ways to deal with pain, especially when going to bed.
The self-help posts come from my work as a mental health counselor for over 15+ years. My background in counseling training is from UFV and RRU. I also have personal trainer certification from IFA, so I might throw in some exercise posts as well.
