Have you seen the new yoga burn challenge by Zoe Bray-Cotton?
If not, that’s okay. I’m here to tell you all about it.
Most doctors conclude that yoga is one of the most beneficial exercises a person can do. They also say that you can have a phenomenal sleep once you challenge and stretch your muscles.
Each human has three dimensions which are the body, subjective mind, and consciousness. These three dimensions work together to create an optimal human being.
It has been known for centuries!
But modern science has only focused on the body, which is considered to be apart from the mind. Now there is a relearning curve happening in society that the body and mind work together as one unit.
Most doctors are now recommending yoga to their patients. Especially those who see their doctor because they can’t sleep at night. The lack of sleeping disrupts their day to day living and causes undue anxiety.
What’s my say here?
Coming from my personal training background, I highly endorse yoga. Not only do I highly recommend it, but I also practice it as well.
Being a person with severe illness now in remission (cancer), I feel yoga is the one thing that helps me find grounding in life. It also helps me to sleep with purpose. Sleeping with purpose means lying down only when sleep is the primary goal. Even my stress has gone down significantly.
How did yoga help me realize this?
I realized my body was tired all the time, not because of the yoga but because of the illness. Yoga showed me how to be tired in a smarter way where my body would want to sleep. With the disease, I was having anxious thoughts that wouldn’t leave my mind. But after doing yoga, I was having no trouble sleeping, which then helped my body to recover quickly.
So far, although being on chemotherapy, I’ve been fortunate not to be struck down with any common contagious illnesses that go around.
I know this is all due to practicing yoga!

What is the Yoga Burn Challenge All About
The yoga burn challenge consists of three different phases.
Phase I Foundational Flow – the first phase of the yoga burn challenge starts to prepare you for the program by going through basic yoga poses.
Zoe will take you through each pose in a step-by-step manner to ensure that you are doing the posture correctly. She gently guides you through the poses in well-structured sequences.
Also, during this phase, you are taught how to breathe with focused intention.
Phase 2 Transitional Flow – During this phase, you are learning the fundamental poses and to go from one pose to the next to create a sequence of postures.
Here you are taught how not to let your body get comfortable by doing the same poses over and over again. Once our body gets comfortable, it stops gaining any benefits.
To keep gaining benefits, she will teach you how to mix your poses to keep your body guessing at what is coming next. By doing this, your body is learning not to depend on any single pose.
Phase 3 Mastery Flow – The final stage of the program is where you are taught how to master your poses to move through the program quickly and efficiently.
Zoe focuses on getting the most done with the littlest time. She knows we all have hectic lives. Her focus during this phase is to help us get through the program without having to sacrifice too much time.

Yoga Burn Challenge Will Even Reshape Your Body
The reason it will reshape your body is that yoga is core-centric which moves you from pose to pose. Always you’re using your core to stabilize your body.
Because the yoga burn challenge moves through three different phases, with each stage focusing on quality rather than quantity, you are giving your body a hard workout.
Yoga can also be counted as doing cardio. At no time are you not doing a pose. Moving through a sequence of postures keeps your heart rate up.
As your heart rate goes up, your breathing goes in more in-depth, which brings in much-needed oxygen, hence your metabolism gets a boost.
Although yoga is not a competitive sport, at all times, you are challenging yourself to move deeper into the pose. By challenging yourself, you are radically reshaping your body as well making your body tired enough to want to sleep at night. You also open up your sinuses for easier breathing at night.

Reading is my favorite thing to do. But other than reading, I enjoy discovering new techniques on how to do something in simpler methods. My daughter likes to call me the Renaissance woman. So I do have to live up to the name.
One of my main issues is sleeping, so I’m always searching for new ways to get a good night sleep, I’m more than happy to share them with you.
My posts are either geared towards pain or self-help. Pain posts because I suffer from ongoing cancer pain. In the past 6 years of my fight with cancer, I have learned many ways to deal with pain, especially when going to bed.
The self-help posts come from my work as a mental health counselor for over 15+ years. My background in counseling training is from UFV and RRU. I also have personal trainer certification from IFA, so I might throw in some exercise posts as well.
